Studio Info & Policies
General Class Information
Unless otherwise stated, all sessions are for 18+ years only.
There is a maximum of 6 people per wheel throwing class.
Please arrive in good time; structured classes and workshops will start promptly as scheduled.
Feel free to bring a sketchbook or notepad to make notes and develop ideas.
I take no responsibility for your valuables in the studio.
Before the class/session ends, everyone will spare some time for cleaning and tidying up the wheel area and tools used. Keeping everyone safe and healthy whilst working in the studio is vital. I reserve the right to ask anyone exhibiting unsafe practices to leave the studio.
Depending on firing schedules, your finished item/s will be ready for collection 3-4 weeks after the session or series of sessions end. You will be notified by email when your work is ready to collect. Due to limited shelf space, I am unable to keep work for longer than 4 weeks following the email notification.
Health and Safety Policy
Pace Makers – the wheels create a magnetic force. If you have a pace maker you must consult your Doctor before committing to a class.
Pottery is a messy business, so it is advised that you wear clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. I provide aprons, but you are welcome to bring your own.
We are working with water and mud, therefore please take care when moving around the studio and don’t delay cleaning up a spill.
Wet clean only – no sweeping or brushing of dry clay on any surface or floor.
Please don’t wear loose sleeves or jewellery that might catch in the wheel or clay.
Tie back long hair and consider the length of your nails. Long nails can make wheel throwing very difficult.
There is no eating in the studio.
Drinking from a closed-top vessel is preferred.
Please contact me before purchasing a session/workshop if you have any allergies, health or accessibility concerns – contact@thewheelhousepotterystudio.com
Please note the studio is not wheelchair accessible.
I aim to educate and inspire through fun sessions and workshops. In order for all students to enjoy their experience at The Wheelhouse, I retain the right to ask individuals to leave if their conduct is deemed unsafe or offensive

In the case of tutor illness, during a 6-week course, every effort will be made to find an alternative tutor. 6-week courses are non-refundable, are not transferable to another person and cannot be deferred to another period.
A minimum enrolment number is required to run a course. If the numbers of students fail to reach this minimum, the course will be cancelled. Applicants will be provided with a full refund or offered an alternative course, if one is available.
